Ten separate School Meals Scheme catering contracts were awarded to schools and education bodies across Ireland between 15 and 21 July 2026, according to notices published to the Official Journal. Between them the awards carry a combined ceiling of €2,219,285.20 — though, as with most of these contracts, most of that figure is an estimated framework ceiling rather than guaranteed spend, not a fixed contract price.

The awards

15 Jul 2026 Bohola National School Martina's Homemade Foods €151,000.00 estimated value (framework ceiling)

Eight of the ten are framework ceilings — the maximum the school could draw down over the contract term, not a committed spend — while two (Scoil Mhuire Naofa Rhode and Donegal ETB) are recorded as estimated contract values outside a framework.

One winner, two schools

The Lunch Bag Limited is the only caterer to appear twice in the week's notices, winning separate hot-meals contracts at Scoil Mhuire Naofa Rhode (€165,000.00) and Scoil Eoin Phóil 11 Naofa (€312,748.80 framework ceiling) — together an estimated €477,748.80 across the two schools.

Looking ahead

Several more schools have hot and cold meal tenders closing this week under the same scheme, including Virgin Mary Boys National School (estimated value €150,552.00, deadline 22 July) and Anabla N.S. (estimated value €97,843.20, deadline 22 July) — both buyer estimates, not award values, since neither tender has closed yet.

Figures are drawn from notices published to Ireland's official procurement portal and aggregated by TenderMatch. Framework ceilings represent the maximum permitted spend, not actual drawdown.
