€36m in public tenders close today, led by TII's €26m MetroLink contract

What's closing today

Wednesday 23 July 2026 is a heavy deadline day. Among the tenders closing today, at least eleven carry a disclosed buyer estimate, adding up to roughly €36.26 million. As with all figures below, these are the buyer's own estimated values at tender stage, not award or contract values — none of these have been awarded yet.

The two largest by far both come from Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), which has two separate MetroLink procurements closing on the same day:

• MetroLink – Environmental Monitoring Services — estimated value €26,000,000, closing 16:00
• MetroLink M500 Service Delivery Partner — no estimate disclosed, closing 11:00

Also closing today:

• South Dublin County Council — Contract of Works, Grange Cottage, Grand Canal Way, estimated value €6,000,000 (15:00), and a separate tree survey and database update contract, estimated value €250,000 (15:00)
• Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade — Evaluation Consultancy Services Framework, estimated value €1,500,000 (17:00)
• Irish Prison Service — design and installation of sensory spaces and equipment, estimated value €900,000 (11:00)
• University of Galway — supply and installation of a high-resolution X-ray fluorescence core scanner, estimated value €700,000 (13:00)
• Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board — architect-led design team for an energy retrofit at Waterford Training Centre, estimated value €280,000 (13:00)
• Canon Sheehan Primary School — hot school meals contract, estimated value €324,979.20 (14:00)
• St. Raphael's College — tools and equipment supply for T4 subjects, estimated value €104,132.80 (14:00)
• Bell Lane Coffee Ltd, estimated value €180,000 (13:00)
• Churchill Oram Group Water Scheme — source protection plan, estimated value €22,000 (14:00)

A further set of tenders close today with no disclosed estimate, including Monaghan County Council's Ulster Canal Greenway construction and Sliabh Beagh design team competitions, Cork City Council's out-of-hours call answering service and Summit of Mayors catering, Louth County Council's Community Involvement Scheme, Wexford County Council's private rental inspections framework, Mayo County Council's Lough Cumnel contractor procurement, and the Department of Housing's Mayo Built Heritage stocktake.

Why it matters

Two €700k+ figure, seven-figure procurements from the same state agency landing on one deadline day is unusual — worth watching for who ultimately wins the MetroLink environmental monitoring brief given the scale of the wider MetroLink programme. We'll be tracking the award notices as they land.
