Milford Care Centre is a voluntary, not-for-profit organisation and the sole specialist palliative care service provider in the Mid-West region. It is a registered Charity and is governed by a Board. It is a service provider to the HSE under Section 38 of the Health Act 2004. Milford has 34 inpatient palliative care beds and a 69 bed Nursing Home. Milford Care Centre has an Education and Research Centre, Older Adult Day care, Specialist Palliative Daycare Services and Administrative Support. OBJECTIVE The objective of Milford Care Centre is to procure a Supplier that will provide: • A quality driven, cost efficient cleaning service which achieves an optimum standard of cleaning for all required areas of the hospital appropriate for their use; and is held in high regard by patients, staff and visitors alike; • A standard of service that helps provide a positive image of the hospital and a level of cleanliness which provides a clinical and socially acceptable environment for patients, visitors and staff; • Compliance with all aspects of the National Standards set out by HIQA, the HSE and other legislative requirements. • Assurances that all activities are lawful and compliant with current legislation, official guidance and good practice; • Assurances that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times; and A safe environment and safe working practices including the use of a recognised assessment/management system to ensure that standards of cleanliness stay high and that any reduction in the quality of service is recognised and corrected.
