FIT is the National Coordinator of IT Technical Apprenticeships at NFQ Level 6 and delivers three apprenticeship courses in Software Development, Cyber Security and Computer Network Associate. Our intention is to scale the number of current technical apprenticeships from 500 to 5000. In addition, FIT provides wrap around supports to 3500 students via its training and employment teams, with an additional 7000 students engaging with FIT via its schools and digital pathways course annually. To achieve these scaling targets and maintain a competitive edge in all parts of the FIT organization we seek a vendor to act as consultant to the FIT Project Manager for this implementation with identifying a suitable platform and procuring licenses for same, setting up the platform for FIT use and customising it as a learning management system for use as the FIT Knowledge Area. The LMS implementation needs to offer improved user functionality, efficiencies of scale and consolidate the FIT vision for a more collaborative and blended learning experience. The chosen Learning Management System, LMS, must allow learners to access video content, chapter summary activities and quiz materials and provide an immersive and interactive experience and house resource stacks and FIT generated content. The LMS should allow for learner collaboration and be designed to be accessible and inclusive. The consultant needs to assist FIT with the identification and implementation of the best platform for this purpose, deliver customisation of the platform for FIT use and assist with the upgrading of our existing course materials and marketing supports into an enhanced format for use on the LMS system and train the FIT project manager and staff in its use and provide post launch support for FIT for 12 months.
