2. Scope of Work
This tender seeks to establish a single-party framework agreement for the supply of signage to Beaumont Hospital. The agreement will cover both internal and, on occasion, external signage requirements. The initial contract awarded under this framework will be for a period of one year, with the potential for the framework agreement to extend for up to four years. The Contracting Authority reserves the right to operate outside the framework if greater value for money is identified.
The scope of work includes:
- Internal Signage: This is the primary requirement. Tenderers must be able to supply a range of internal signs as detailed in Appendix 2 (Pricing Schedule). This includes, but is not limited to, signs for electrical risers, mechanical risers, entrances, means of egress, wayfinder routes, directional and informative signs, and door tag room numbers.
- External Signage: The framework may be used to procure external signage on an as-needed basis.
- Dual Language Requirements: All signs must include both Irish and English text, supporting the Contracting Authority's statutory obligations. Compliance with HTM65/NHS Wayfinding Document is mandatory.
- Material Specifications:
- Internal signage must be constructed of extruded aluminium (2mm thick curved top to bottom) with a thick anodised finish and black end caps.
- The face of internal signs must be 1mm thick matt acrylic to meet hygiene and Infection Prevention and Control requirements.
- Signs are generally required to be robust, ensuring longevity and ease of maintenance.
- Where applicable, paint coatings must comply with Cat. C4 (ISO12944 and ISO9233).
- A natural anodised aluminium finish is specified for pricing.
- Signage inserts must be printed vinyl with a matt finish.
- Pictograms and Symbols: All signage shall include pictograms where appropriate and agreed with the Contracting Authority, including ISO7001 symbols for toilet and lift signage.
- Artwork and Design Approval: The successful framework member must implement a system for the review and formal ‘sign off’ by the Contracting Authority of all artwork, designs, spelling, and text prior to production.
- Product Quality and Samples: All products must be of good quality, comply with legislation, meet requirements, and be suitable for their purpose. Samples of products will be requested for trials and must be provided free of charge. Failure to provide a sample may result in elimination. Products deemed of insufficient quality must be replaced at no additional cost.
- Prompt Delivery: All supplies must be delivered promptly upon request.
- Account Management: A named Contract Manager must be nominated. A Service Level Agreement will address complaints, product availability (routine and urgent orders), and invoicing arrangements (monthly in arrears).
- Warranty: A minimum twelve-month guarantee from the date of delivery against faulty materials is required for all products.
