Original notice text

Tyndall National Institute, University College Cork requests the supply of a Precision Ferroelectric and Piezoelectric Analysis Platform, comprising of seven complementary subsystems with functionality requirements as follows 1. Measurement Core 2. Optical Metrology 3. Thermal Modules 4. HV Subsystem 5. Fixturing and Probing 6. Workstation 7. Infrastructure The Platform must have the ability to perform comprehensive, high resolution ferroelectric and piezoelectric characterisation of ferroic materials, spanning bulk ceramics, ultrathin films and full wafers, across a broad temperature range. The primary purpose of this platform is to provide a unified, high performance infrastructure for the fundamental research and industrial benchmarking of advanced ferroic and piezoelectric materials. It will be utilised for the precision characterisation of material properties at various stages of development, from initial thin film growth and bulk ceramic synthesis to full wafer level device integration and reliability testing, supporting the development of next generation sensors, actuators, and beyond CMOS computing architectures. Materials with controlled ferroic responses are key to enabling next generation technologies. Ferroelectric and piezoelectric materials are vital for precision actuators, sensors, photonic systems, and non volatile memories, while multiferroics, combining electric and magnetic order, present transformative potential for ultra low power, non volatile logic and memory.
