The project is expected to facilitate access to development lands, thereby increasing housing supply in response to a growing demand, as indicated by the projected increase in housing targets from 426 to 751 by 2034. The council has previously constructed a portion of this route in 2004, and the current tender aims to complete the remaining sections.
