3. Background & buyer context
The National Transport Authority (NTA) is a statutory non-commercial body established under the Dublin Transport Authority Act 2008 and expanded by the Public Transport Regulation Act 2009. Its remit covers national transport functions, including procuring public transport services, providing integrated ticketing and information, developing an accessible public transport network, and managing bus infrastructure.
This procurement aligns with the NTA's ongoing efforts to enhance public transport information availability at bus stops nationwide. This involves the installation of new infrastructure and the upgrading of existing facilities. The provision of clear, durable, and up-to-date printed information at bus stops is a critical component of this strategy, ensuring passengers have access to essential route and service details.
